COMPUTER HISTORY
You might be wondering what a computer is and when was it invented. Well computer is something that you put information and get information back.
Abacus (the first type of computer) was invented 10 000 years while the digital computer was invented about 100 years ago.
INPUT & OUTPUT DEVICES
Input devices- keyboard, mouse, scanner, camera, graphic tablet
Output devices- monitor, speakers, printer
BINARY NUMBER SYSTEM (Computer's number system) Computers number system consists of two numbers: 0 and 1. 1 means on and 0 means off.
BITS AND BYTES
Every piece of information is a bit.
8 bits= a byte.
1000 bytes= kilobyte
8000 bytes= megabytes
Million bytes= gigabyte
Floppy disk= million and a half bytes
USB Keys= 32 mega bytes
Kilobyte= 1000(rounded up) but 1024 as binary numbers
Terabyte= 1000 gigabyte
